Job Title: Dietary Supervisor

Status: Full Time

Shift: Monday - Friday and every other weekend (12 pm - 8 pm)

Salary: Up to $20/hour

What do I need as a Dietary Supervisor with McGregor?

  • One-year certificate from college or technical school; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Servsafe certification preferred.
  • Ability to read and write; and understand an interpret written instructions.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of food preparation and handling techniques. General knowledge of safety and sanitation rules and practices.
  • Basic computer knowledge.

What will I do as a Dietary Supervisor with McGregor?

  • Provide leadership and supervise the operation of the dining services department; monitor food production including temperatures and food quality for each meal period, monitor dish room operation; coordinate and supervise satellite dining room service.
  • Train employees in proper completion of work responsibilities and require accountability in work tasks; plan and conduct in-service training programs; participate in employee supervision, coaching, counseling and evaluation.
  • Implement dining services policies and procedures and food service job descriptions; communicate pertinent information to dining services employees.
  • Prepare work and cleaning schedules, prep work, and sanitation assignments.
  • Complete administrative tasks including employee scheduling, payroll reports, and ordering food items.
  • Supervise the receiving and storage of food, food preparation, and service; requisitions food; monitor food and supply quantities to insure proper control; maintain food and labor costs within the dining services budget.
  • Supervise dining rooms during meal periods; interact with residents and collect resident feedback.
  • Conduct food safety and sanitation inspections as needed; ensures proper maintenance of equipment.
  • Implement diets and menus approved by the Director of Dietician; maintain menus for required retention period; maintain file of standardized recipes.
  • Provide foods, setups, and services for parties and/or other scheduled programs.
